Columbine
Aquilegia x ‘McKana Giants’
Columbine is another flower which can be found
growing wild along
trails in Arkansas. We ordered some from Spring Hill Nursery online.
Each package had roots for 3 different colors/types which Spring
Hill refers to as "Mixed Columbine".
Planted May 13, 2009 in East driveway bed:
The ones below were planted along the edge of our lot closest to the golf course
where deer
frequently pass by. The catalog says that deer
"avoid" Columbine, so we will be putting that to the test.
See blooms, May 30th.

We also planted some down the backyard hill, another place where
deer frequently pause to eat.
