The builder had to cut into the hill to put in the driveway.
This left tree roots sticking out all the way down the driveway.
The landscaper put in the stacked rock retaining wall.
We didn't know if the trees would survive, but they did.
Unfortunately, it appears that the landscaper filled in behind
the wall with city pit (clay and rock) instead of good soil.
